"Cereal Killers: A Breakfast Crime Scene"
Now until October 31, 2026
The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum presents a whimsical, 1980s-inspired whodunit exhibition.
Created by local mixed-media artist Caren Loy, the art installation transforms the museum into an interactive crime scene featuring nostalgic monster cereal characters, vintage cereal boxes, and scattered clues.
Located in The Pocket Alley, the exhibition offers a humorous trip back to Saturday morning television for guests of all ages.
The Pocket Museum is open daily with free admission for all visitors.

Hattiesburg's Zoo Boo

Open from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on the above listed dates at the Hattiesburg Zoo. Admission rates begin at $15.
There will be more than 100 lanterns, animal encounters, unlimited train and carousel rides, jump houses, special treats and more.

Booseum in Hattiesburg

Takes place from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the African American Military History Museum (305 East 6th Street, Hattiesburg).
Children are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes for an evening filled with festive activities, including train rides through the historic district.
Attendees can also participate in a special Trick-or-Treat Tour designed to let children gather candy while exploring the venue.
Admission for the event is set at $5 for adults and $3 for children. The event aims to offer a fun seasonal experience while introducing families to the local history preserved within the district, organizers tell Pine Belt Radio.

Spooky Hollow: Monster Movie Madness
October 23-25, 2026
Enjoy a family-friendly, drive-through Halloween trail featuring glowing lights, inflatables, and audio by Southern Miss students.
Runs October 23 through 25, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Lake Thoreau Environmental Center in Hattiesburg.
Admission is $5 per person (cash only, ages 3 and under free).

Ellis Fest

This trunk-or-treat event takes place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in downtown Ellisville. The event also includes a chili cookoff, vendors, food trucks and hayrides. Ghost tours follow from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m.
