USPS Operation Santa
November 17 until December 5
The U.S. Postal Service has launched the 113th year of USPS Operation Santa, inviting children and families nationwide to write letters to Santa that may be “adopted” by generous individuals or organizations to help fulfill holiday wishes.
Letters must follow program guidelines at USPSOperationSanta.com and be postmarked by December 6 to qualify, with a new option allowing adopters to fulfill requests from entire households through family letters.
Participants can adopt letters and use the expanded USPS Operation Santa online gift catalog, which offers thousands of items and streamlined shipping, making it easier than ever to spread holiday cheer.

Takes place at the Laurel OES Chapter #24, located at 1227 West 5th Street in Laurel.
Pancakes and sausage with all the toppings, milk, juice, and coffee for eight dollars per person; children under two years of age eat free.
Bring you (cell phone) camera to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
United Way of the Pine Belt Region: Prancer Path Fundraiser
November 25, 2025, until January 2, 2026
This holiday tradition in Laurel unites the community while supporting vital local programs.
The event will showcase decorated trees competing in categories such as Best Non-Profit, Most School Spirit, People’s Choice, and Best Overall Tree, with new categories added each year.
Organizers encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to order a tree, combining festive advertising with meaningful support for education, health, and financial stability initiatives across the Pine Belt.
Rotary Club of Hattiesburg: Gingerbread House Competition
Thursday, December 4, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Takes place at the King Center at the main Hattiesburg campus of William Carey University.
Entry fee is $125 for a team of up to four people. Proceeds benefit Pine Belt area charities including Edwards Street Fellowship, The Hope Clinic, and local Boy Scout troops.
Laurel Little Theatre presents "Scrooge: The Musical"
December 5-6, 12-13 at 7:30 p.m.; December 7 and 14 at 2:30 p.m.
Directed by Dr. Christy Liverett, the show is based on Charles Dickens' masterpiece. The heartwarming musical follows Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey from bitterness to redemption through powerful songs and ghostly visits.
Laurel's Kiwanis Pancake Day

Takes place at the YWCO (428 West Oak Street) and First Baptist Church (607 West 5th Street).
This year's breakfast is scheduled to coincide with the Laurel Sertoma 2025 Christmas parade.
Tickets are $10 each.

Takes place at the Hattiesburg Saenger Theater.
Guests can enjoy free photos at themed holiday stations featuring The Grinch, Milo the Mouse, and the Hattiesburg Zoo’s Lights of the Wild display.
The celebration also includes free cookies, cozy pajama attire, Grinch-themed snacks for purchase, and exclusive merchandise.
Admission is free, and the event is part of the Downtown Hattiesburg Cookie Trail.
