• Oct. 2nd Hattiesburg Speakeasy The beloved event has a new name. 

    This remains a traditional friend-raiser for the DuBard School for Language Disorders, based at the main campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. The school helps children with academic, speech, language, and hearing disorders “speak easy.”

    The Hattiesburg Speakeasy features a delectable spread of Prohibition-era inspired food and beverages, live entertainment, dancing, and more in a fully themed 1920’s event.

  • Oct. 4th Deen-Tate Memorial Ride The ride honors Hattiesburg Police Officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed in the line of duty in 2015. 

    The event begins with registration at 8 a.m. at Hattiesburg Cycles, with kickstands up at 10 a.m.

    Riders, clubs, and jeeps are welcome, with registration set at $25 per rider and $10 per passenger; pre-registration includes a T-shirt and merchandise bag. 

    The 51-mile ride will be escorted by law enforcement, observe all traffic laws, and conclude with a brief memorial ceremony.

    Proceeds will benefit the Deen-Tate Scholarship through the Pinebelt Foundation.

  • Mar. 29th, 2026 Messiah Parts II and III Presented by The Meistersingers of Mississippi, the concert starts at 3 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg.

    Scheduled during the season of Lent, the Biblical texts of Parts II and III of this beloved choral classic focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus, culminating in the Hallelujah Chorus.

    Dr. Jay Dean will serve as guest conductor for this performance.

  • June 4th-27th, 2026 FestivalSouth Organizers have unveiled plans for the 2026 edition of FestivalSouth, which will take place the month before America’s semiquincentennial.

    "Join us as we honor the artistry that has shaped our nation’s soul — not only with stars and stripes but also with the spark of imagination," officials said in a statement online.

    As in previous years, several free and ticketed performances will take place in and around Hattiesburg.

    FestivalSouth and Hub City Players will present Disney's "Newsies" during June 2026. The Meistersingers of Mississippi will perform a semiquincentennial concert June 7 at 3 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg.
